Walking Images

Feeling better so went out for lunch today, forgoing the meal provided by the hospital, usually a stir fry with meat, vegetables and rice from a local vendor delivered to the conference room where volunteers and administrative staff eat. Good but pretty much the same every day. Margie thinks this was the source of her malaise. Another volunteer also got distress, thinking along the same line. She has a reputed stomach of steel, having grown up in the Philippines, and an intrepid traveler.

The Emergency Department. Patients queue before the ward opens at 8 AM. By 9 there are a deluge of imaging requests, as the patients are evaluated. Films are brought as a batch to be read, but I sometimes go over and offer assistance to help expedite management.

The streets around the hospital have the usual variety of vendors that are ubiquitous throughout the city.

Tiny river clams, which I'm told are of dubious safety. They are a snack food, eaten whole, with the shells spit out.

Evening stroll on the way to the to the supermaket

Margie did not eat the cloyingly sweet ice cream, but the shades of pink were complementary.

  4. The wedding pictures I particularly enjoyed. Both bride and groom look like porcelain dolls. The group pictures look like royalty. The fully peeled basket of bananas made me look twice!!
